Bitcoin Continues Extreme Price Moves Over Last 24 Hours

Bitcoin continued to rebound wildly from bears to bulls, gaining 10 percent over the last 24 hours to sit at the $10,600 single-coin price level this morning.

Bitcoin has been as low as $9,400 on at least one exchange over the last 24 hours. The strong move upward mirrored the large price fluctuations of the last week.

Bitcoin Cash also enjoyed a price renaissance, gaining 17 percent over the last day to sit at $1,400 per single coin this morning.

The highest price seen was $10,785.80 on the LakeBTC exchange at 9:24 am today. LakeBTC saw $124,995,000 of bitcoin change hands.

The lowest price seen was $9,400.00 on BTCC’s exchange at 1:06 pm yesterday. BTCC’s 24 hour volume was $108,160,000.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $9,938.46.

Volatility was greater than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 67.2. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.

These statistics were consolidated from 7 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
