Bitcoin Foundation appoints 3 new members to the boardbr>
Bitcoin Foundation announced the appointment of Vinny Lingham, the co-founder and CEO of Gyft; Michael Perklin, president of C4; and Francis Pouliot CEO of Satoshi Portal to the board. The new members are runners up from the previous industry election.
The Foundation also voted on making certain key changes. One of the more noteworthy changes was the transition of a fixed board member seat belonging to bitcoin’s pseudonymous creator Satoshi Nakamoto to an optional one.
The Foundation also voted unanimously to continue the Foundation itself, after seeds of discontent were sowed in recent times which culminated in two board members being voted off.
The board also voted to approve a change wherein international affiliate chapters will no longer have to pay membership fees or share revenues.
The Bitcoin Foundation is an American nonprofit corporation. It was founded in September 2012 with the stated mission to “standardize, protect and promote the use of Bitcoin cryptographic money for the benefit of users worldwide.
