Bitcoin Holds Steady At $8,200 – Bitcoin Cash Also Stable

Bitcoin moved sideways today, gaining a few percentage points but basically holding position on its strong gains of the last few days. As of this morning, legacy bitcoin (BTC) was trading around the $8,200 mark for single coins.

Similarly, Bitcoin Cash also held on to its recent price rise, sitting just under $1,200 per single coin, a rise of a few percentage points in the last 24-hours.

The highest price seen was $8,383.60 on the Bittrex exchange at 10:36 am today. Bittrex saw $70,496,700 of bitcoin change hands.

The lowest price seen was $7,805.82 on Bitstamp’s exchange at 12:00 am today. Bitstamp’s 24 hour volume was $99,069,100.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $8,190.91.

Volatility was a bit lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 48.1. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.

These statistics were consolidated from 8 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
