Bitcoin Holds On To Weekend Gains, But Still In A Narrow Range

Bitcoin continued its minor rally today, hovering around the $11,500 per single coin mark, holding on to its weekend gains. Investors are still keeping bitcoin within a narrow trading range of $10,000-$11,000.

Elsewhere, modest gains for other coins were noted, with Ripple XRP the outlier, gaining nine percent and back over the $1 mark.

The highest price seen was $11,696.60 on the HitBTC exchange at 11:36 am today. HitBTC saw $56,072,000 of bitcoin change hands.

The lowest price seen was $11,479.00 on Bitfinex’s exchange at 12:42 pm today. Bitfinex’s 24 hour volume was $324,746,000.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $11,540.64.

Volatility was lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 35.6. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.

These statistics were consolidated from 8 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
