Bitcoin Prices Continue To Slowly Climb As Crypto Market Revives

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies continued to get off the deck this morning. After a brief stop over the $9,000 per single coin level over the weekend, bitcoin is now sitting at $8,800, with strong market momentum in play.

The news was green arrows all around for other digital currencies, albeit with some still-cautious moves by investors. All of the Top 20 coins were up on the day, sporting modest gains of a few percentage points.

The highest price seen was $8,849.60 on the Kraken exchange at 5:48 am today. Kraken saw $66,260,200 of bitcoin change hands.

The lowest price seen was $8,033.36 on Huobi’s exchange at 7:00 pm yesterday. Huobi’s 24 hour volume was $89,766,700.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $8,488.03.

Volatility was a bit lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 45.0. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.

These statistics were consolidated from 9 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
