Bitcoin Regains Its Footing, Starts Heading Back Up

Bitcoin and several other cryptocurrencies regained some traction over the last 24 hours, reversing the downward slump since last weekend.

At mid-morning, BTC stood at just over $9,300 per single coin, a point-and-a-half rise over yesterday. Also recovering were ether and Bitcoin Cash, with BCH rising nearly five percent to top $1,600.

The highest price seen was $9,337.75 on the Bibox exchange at 7:42 am today. Bibox saw $45,718,700 of bitcoin change hands.

The lowest price seen was $8,959.19 on Binance’s exchange at 12:12 am today. Binance’s 24 hour volume was $234,882,000.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $9,172.35.

Volatility was a bit lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 47.8. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.

These statistics were consolidated from 11 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
