Blockchain Firm Eligma Partners With BTC City Ljubljanabr>
BTC City is a shopping mall, sports, entertainment and business area in Ljubljana, Slovenia, with more than 450 shops. It is one of the largest shopping and entertainment complexes in Europe, with a total gross area of more than 475,000 square meters. It includes a main shopping mall called CityPark, 16 smaller shopping malls, a multiplex with twelve screens, the recently opened Plaza Hotel Ljubljana, a market, a mini golf course, a waterpark with a spa center and an entertainment center with a casino, bowling, 3D cinema as well as two high rise office buildings.
Eligma is an artificial intelligence-driven and blockchain-based cognitive commerce platform that aims to change the way people discover, purchase, track, and resell items online. Eligma’s EliPay system, the platform’s cryptocurrency transaction system, is set to enable the cryptocurrency transactions, be it offline or online.
Under the partnership, BTC City will test the EliPay system to offer transactions with cryptocurrencies in some of the selected offline stores. The goal is to bring cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies into the mainstream by creating a unified marketplace, where paying both with fiat and cryptocurrencies will be possible. This will simplify payment and business processes and enable the creation of a central warehouse, from which any item can be shipped. The testing stage will start this April and should last until September.
Additionally, Eligma will be enabling offline retailers to implement their POS solution that will combine with the mobile wallet and operate as a cryptocurrency payment processor. BTC City is already home to multiple blockchain companies and Eligma will expand its capabilities to host future blockchain companies and projects with great potential.
“As a strategic partner of the Eligma company, we will therefore enable the testing of Eligma’s EliPay system in a real environment at selected business partners in BTC CITY Ljubljana,” said Jože Mermal, Chairman and CEO of BTC. “EliPay will enable the use of cryptocurrencies both online and in the physical world, creating a modern, transparent and simple shopping experience for our visitors and business partners.”
