Blockchain Firm NKOR Adds Ophir Gertner To Advisory Boardbr>
Blockchain firm NKOR has added Ophir Gertner, founder of blockchain firm Stox and invest.com, to its advisory board. Gertner will join existing board members Groupon-SnapSaves CEO Anatoliy Melnichuk, Da Vinci Capital partner Andrey Yashunsky and QVentures co-founder David Mickler.
NKOR is a platform based on blockchain technology for the registration of intellectual property and copyright management. The platform authenticates digital data, which is then linked to a transaction on a blockchain via smart contracts. The process then time-stamps it to provide an immutable and publicly readable record of authenticity and tracks the uploading and sharing of the same content by non-licensed entities. Finally, it verifies the IP and copyright of content creators, and allows them to monetize from its distribution.
Gertner founded invest.com in December 2014 to remove the barriers to alternative investments. Invest.com specializes in providing customers with access to portfolio management services, algorithm-trading investment strategies, and trading platforms.
In August of this year, Gertner led Stox to raise $30 million by means of an initial coin offering (ICO). The advertising of that ICO saw an enormous increase in its final week when American boxing champion Floyd Mayweather promoted Stox on Instagram, where he has over 16 million followers.
“We are extremely happy that a blockchain persona such as Ophir chose to partner with us,” said NKOR CEO Eric Klein. “That certainly reinforces the claim that NKOR has risen to the right path.”
