Taiwan-based ecommerce platform OwlTing has developed an integrated lodging management platform to help hotels worldwide improve brand awareness and customer satisfaction.

Called OwlNest, the platform is an ethereum-based hotel management service with booking engine and property management system. The platform uses smart contracts to allow flexible inventory management and efficient booking transactions, with enhanced customer privacy and transaction security.

The platform will enable hotels to design customized pricing packages, identify returning customers, collect customer preferences and automatically adjust promotion campaigns by seasonality and customer behavior more easily. It supports multiple payment gateways such as credit card, PayPal, WeChat, Alipay, Apple Pay, bitcoin and other blockchain-based payment services will be added in the future.

OwlTing CEO Darren Wang said that they are already working with hotels and hostels in the United States, Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia. The plan is bring OwlNest to over 30,000 hotels by 2019. He added that they expect the advanced blockchain technology behind OwlNest to create huge value for hotels and travelers by solving critical pain points.

In May, OwlTing created what it claims is the world’s first ethereum-based food provenance system, OwlChain. The system aims to bring transparency, immutability, and integrity for food supply chains that would create a benchmark for improved food safety across the globe. OwlChain was the result of a collaboration between OwlTing, agribusiness company Nice Garden, and food supplier Upwelling Ocean.
