Blockchain Hotel Registry Launched In The Indian State Of Andhra Pradeshbr>
India-based blockchain startup Zebi has announced that its blockchain artificial intelligence (AI) solution has been implemented in the hospitality industry of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
Dubbed Zebi AI Chain, the solution has been integrated across over 200 hotels, including The Park, Taj Gateway, and Novotel in Vizag, the latter the capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh known for its “Fintech Valley” ecosystem. The solution will not only protect the guest data of the hotel, but also help police officials to identify and prevent criminal activities.
Zebi AI Chain brings both privacy and security to the data collected, while automating the whole data transfer activity. All of the private and sensitive data of individual hotel guests is stored in the blockchain, and any access or updates to the data are part of the immutable records on the blockchain. The individual remains as the full controller of data, as consent of the individual is taken before every use of their data.
Sudheer Kuppam, board member of Zebi, said that the world has seen plenty of innovation in AI in the last few years, where developed countries already started deploying AI-based surveillance software by local police.
“AI can help automate surveillance by employing state-of-the-art algorithms for facial recognition, image analysis, etc, while ensuring the security and protection of the data through blockchain,” said Kuppam. “Imagine the potential of an AI product that could automatically match the images on ID proofs in real time.”
Dr Fakeerappa Kaginelli, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Vizag region, said that the use of Zebi AI Chain has been made mandatory for all hotels in the Vizag city limits.
“All hotels are directed to enter their check-in particulars on real-time basis without fail and they are adhering,” said Kaginelli. “230 hotels are entering their guest particulars through this tech web page.”
Babu Munagala, founder and CEO of Zebi, said AI and modern technologies created extraordinary power of utilizing people sensitive data collected by governments or enterprises that could potentially be misused. He said the solution provides the much-needed controlling function with complete transparency through smart contracts.
