Blockchain retail startup Pundi X has partnered with the American Chamber of Commerce Korea (AMCHAM) to help introduce and promote the Pundi X blockchain point-of-sales (POS) solution to AMCHAM members.

Pundi X is a multi-cryptocurrency POS solutions provider for retail stores seeking to accept cryptocurrencies. Its Pundi XPOS solution enables shops, cafes and convenience stores to facilitate cryptocurrency transaction for the average consumers. The solution also carries support for credit and debit card payments as well as multiple cryptocurrency transactions.

Founded in 1953, AMCHAM Korea encourages the development of investment and trade between Korea and the United States. It is the largest foreign chamber in Korea with approximately 1,800 member companies with diverse interests and substantial participation in the Korean economy.

Under the agreement, AMCHAM will support, introduce and promote the Pundi X blockchain solution to its members, such as Aston Martin, McDonald’s and more, in support of the blockchain payment solution deployment and adoption in South Korea. Korea is one of four countries where Pundi X will begin to ship pre-orders for its new XPOS device.

“Korea is a key market for the deployment of cryptocurrencies and, it of course follows, for Pundi X,” said Danny Lim, Pundi X co-founder and chief financial officer. “We are very pleased by the level of interest shown by Korean merchants and consumers. But we are confident that with the backing of an organization with as many links to global business as AMCHAM and strategic counsel from our key advisor Jeffrey Jones that this development will be an important milestone, not just for our presence in Korea but globally, too.”
