Coincheck Sets Investment Program

Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck has launched a new investment program, with a preliminary funding cap of 50 million yen (approx. $450,000).

Coincheck co-founder and COO Yusuke Otsuka said that the program’s goal is to support blockchain startups. The fund will be leveraged to support teams that are planning to launch initial coin offerings (ICO).

The exchange will provide business development and technology advice to companies that will participate in the program.

Coincheck is a bitcoin wallet and exchange service headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, founded by Koichiro Wada and Yusuke Otsuka. It operates exchanges between bitcoin/ether and fiat currencies in Japan, and bitcoin transactions and storage in some countries worldwide.
