Commonwealth Bank of Australia opens technology hub in Hong Kong

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has launched a technology hub in Hong Kong. The hub comes on the back of last year’s launch of a similar (larger) hub in its commercial headquarter city Sydney, and precedes a third hub, which the bank will open later this year in London.

The hub provides space for start-ups to gather and discuss their ideas, and also offers a host of data tracking and live-testing facilities to start-ups who lack such resources.

“We are certainly investigating and seeking to drive a greater understanding in the community… I would be surprised if we didn’t end up with blockchain projects in each lab,” said CBA executive of institutional banking Kelly Bayer Rosmarin.

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia is an Australian multinational bank with businesses across New Zealand, Fiji, Asia, USA and the United Kingdom.
