Crypto Exchange Kraken Appoints Mary Beth Buchanan As General Legal Counsel

Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has appointed Mary Beth Buchanan as their general legal counsel. She was the former United States Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Buchanan was the first women and the youngest person from Pennsylvania to be appointed as a US Attorney, nominated by former President George W. Bush. She continuously held two major positions in the US Justice Department. By the time she resigned, she was the acting director of the Department of Justice’s Office on violence against women.

The US-Based cryptocurrency exchange is running operations in Canada, Japan, United States, and the European Union.

Buchanan was previously working in the international legal firm Bryan Cave, but will now work out of New York.
