Crypto Wallet Provider Blockchain To Open New Office In San Franciscobr>
Crypto wallet provider Blockchain will be opening a new office in San Francisco after acquiring Bay Area software company Tsukemen. This will be the fourth office across the globe for the company and the second in the United States.
The San Francisco office will be headed by Thianh Lu, former CEO and Co-Founder of Tsukemen, and Blockchain’s new Head of Design. Fred Cheng and Chris Arriola, two former software engineers at Tsukemen, will join the office to assist with Blockchain’s software and mobile application development projects. While Tsukemen’s Min Wei will serve as part of the strategy and partnerships team.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to build Blockchain’s West Coast presence, and can’t wait to share what’s coming next,” Lu said. “Making products has always driven our team, and there is no better place to continue building great and innovative technology than at Blockchain.”
Blockchain said the San Francisco office is part of the company’s larger expansion efforts. The company recently brought aboard top tier talent including Marco Santori, formerly of Cooley, as the company’s President, Peter Wilson, formerly of Google and Facebook, as the Vice President of Engineering, and Breanne Madigan, formerly of Goldman Sachs, as the Head of Institutional Sales and Strategy
“It is rare to find such diverse and remarkable talent within a single team, and I feel lucky to have added the creative individuals behind Tsukemen to Blockchain,” said Peter Smith, CEO and Co-Founder of Blockchain. “With such a capable group at its helm, I know that our West Coast office will be instrumental in helping us scale operations and continue building best-in-class products to serve our customers.”
Since raising $40 million in June 2017, Blockchain has expanded rapidly, doubling its headcount in the last eight months and plans to do so again by the end of 2018.
