Cryptocurrency Dash Added By Mobile Top-up Provider Bitrefillbr>
Bitrefill, the prepaid phone payment provider, has added Dash support into its platform. Dash’s market cap currently amounts to $5.6 billion USD. It is the twelfth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
Bitrefill offers prepaid mobile airtime recharge services on global scale. The company’s API allows users of businesses and organizations to access 500 carriers in 127 countries. They settle payments with their customers, be it a consumer or an API-partner, in bitcoin and Litecoin.
Bitrefill said Dash has been added as a payment option for its usefulness for payments. Dash claims that after its latest network upgrade 12.2, the cryptocurrency claims it is about 200x cheaper than bitcoin, with eight times the capacity to verify transactions every second.
The integration will allow Dash users to pay for their mobile phone recharge, monthly bills, and vouchers for prepaid mobile services, through Bitrefill’s platform. Bitrefill has also issued a 10% discount for Dash payments.
Bitrefill CEO Sergej Kotliar said the partnership will help both companies continue their expansion in markets with banking issues – such as Venezuela, Chile, and Zimbabwe. These countries are plagued by the effects of hyperinflation and insufficient financial services, such as digital payments providers.
“We service under-banked communities around the world, and Dash’s InstantSend transactions and low fees will further help these communities,”said Kotliar. “We look forward to working with the Dash community to make paying for prepaid mobile phones more affordable and efficient.”
Dash payments have been integrated by a number of crypto companies over the past few months, including Mercury Cash, BitINKA, and Uphold. Dash Core Director of Business Solutions Bradley Zastrow believes this is because of Dash’s superior functionality as a payment system.
“Dash’s ability to transact at near Visa-like speeds with our InstantSend feature, as well as enable double-spend protected transactions, make it ideal for commerce partners like Bitrefill,” said Zastrow. “We offer a solution that eliminates fraud while also providing an extremely fast form of payment, critical to the user experience.”
Last month, Dash expanded its partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) with a $350,000 agreement. The funds will be used to further accelerate research, development, and education in order to advance blockchain technology.
