Dan Colman and Brian Rast have been named “ambassadors” to the blockchain-based Virtue Poker gaming site.

The duo, both well-known online poker players, are joining to help raise awareness of the game and make the site’s poker room more intuitive. The platform is scheduled to launch next year and is based on the ethereum blockchain.

Colman is third and Rast is tenth on the all-time money list for the Hendon Mob, a web site that tracks the biggest poker players in the world by collecting results from every tournament played globally. The site has collected results dating to 2000.

The online poker room envisioned by Virtue Poker will offer a secure way for players to deposit money while engaged at a virtual poker table. Blockchain will not allow developers to access funds until they are done playing, eliminating the possibility that recently deposited funds are being used to provide winnings. The funds will be transmitted in the form of a token called Virtue Poker Points, or VPP.
