Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation to host blockchain event

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has announced it is going to host a blockchain event next month in New York City, called the Blockchain Symposium.

The day-long event will bring together industry thought leaders, technology experts and policy makers and will discuss business application of blockchain and distributed ledger technology for financial market infrastructure and the industry.

“The aim of the program is to cut through the hype, discuss collaboration and use cases, and imagine what innovations the future may bring,” said DTCC.

The event will feature Blythe Masters, CEO, Digital Asset Holdings as a keynote speaker and a special address by J. Christopher Giancarlo, Commissioner, U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Other speakers include Lee Braine, Investment Bank CTO Office, Barclays; David Rutter, CEO, R3; Jeff Garzik, CEO, Bloq; Patrick Byrne, CEO, Overstock; Michael Casey, Senior Advisor for Blockchain Opportunities, Digital Currency Initiative, MIT Media Lab; Adrienne Harris, Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy, National Economic Council, The White House; and many others.
