UK blockchain energy procurement firm Energi Mine has named an artificial intelligence robot to its management board. The company said Sasha (Strategy and Support – Human Analytics) will use algorithms to suggest ways to manage energy and make trades. It will also analyze sales and performance.

“We already use AI software to trade and manage energy for clients – so bringing Sasha on to our management board is simply the next stage,” said chief executive Omar Rahim. “We recognise that certain tasks can be done more efficiently by machines. Developed by data scientists from across the tech industry, Sasha’s input will be invaluable moving forward.”

Because the energy procurement industry heavily relies on data analysis, the time spent parsing figures costs time and money. The Sasha board member hopes to ease that burden.

Energi Mine was named as one of the world’s most exciting blockchain start-ups at the Initial Coin Offering (ICO) Summit in Zurich. The company is preparing for an initial coin offering, with no date determined on that sales launch.
