Kakao Affiliate Launches New Crypto Exchange UPbit

South Korean FinTech company Dunamu has teamed with bitcoin and blockchain asset exchange Bittrex to open a Korean crypto-to-crypto exchange called UPbit.

Dunamu, the operator of South Korea’s top mobile stock trading app, Kakao Stock, said that during the initial stage of the service, Upbit will mainly handle bitcoin and other alt-coins, such as ethereum, Ripple and Litecoin, with trading volume exceeding a certain amount. Upbit’s ultimate goal is to enable the trading of 111 different cryptocurrencies from 167 different markets. The company claims that Upbit will be the largest digital currency exchange in South Korea.

The exchange will be accessible through the Android and iOS platforms, as well as on desktop computers through its website. The service will also offer coin investment guides with analysis of various alt-coins. In addition, Upbit will also offer internal Bitgo wallets to their users, as well as Kakao Pay authentication for added security.
