NRI SecureTechnologies, a subsidiary of Nomura Research Institute (NRI) specializing in cybersecurity, has launched a new security assessment service designed for systems and services using blockchain.

Called Blockchain Assessment, the new blockchain service is the first security assessment service designed specifically for the blockchain and provided by a medium or large-scale security vendor in Japan.

As its first step, NRI Secure will be launching the security assessment service for smart contracts. The service performs assessment from the dual perspectives of static analysis, which carefully analyzes a program, and dynamic analysis, which involves simulating a real attack, in order to identify vulnerabilities.

The company said that in the future, it will develop the service to be able to assess the other constituent elements of the blockchain system, including its API, multi-signature wallets, key management systems, and top-level applications.
