Ripple Names Former Morgan Stanley Executive Zoe Cruz To Board

Zoe Cruz, the former president of Morgan Stanley’s institutional securities and wealth management division, has joined Ripple’s board of directors. Cruz is a veteran of the financial world and was the third member of Morgan Stanley when the company was founded in 1982.

Cruz has founded two companies since leaving Morgan Stanley. She started hedge fund manager Voras Capital Management and EOZ Global, where she remains CEO. She was also a senior adviser to Promontory Financial Group.

Ripple recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. Its XRP coin has been on a spectacular price run-up, topping the $1 mark for the first time, and remains firmly in the top five of cryptocurrencies by market cap. Ripple has also been expanding its settlement systems with banks and other financial institutions.
