Strong Cryptocurrency Market Continues in BTC, ETH Tradingbr>
Legacy bitcoin (BTC) was holding at the $4,500 single-coin level at mid-day today, as an overall strong cryptocurrency market continued its late August surge.
Ethereum’s ether was up three-and-a-half percent to $381, continuing to climb, while Bitcoin Cash (BCC) held at the $557 mark. Ripple’s XRP and Dash held serve at $0.225957 and $367, respectively, while Litecoin ($61) and Monero ($128) were slightly down.
The Block Tribune Volatility Index, which measures price swings in bitcoin, sat at BTVI 42.2 today, indicating an well below-average volatility.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $4,587.18.
Volatility was a bit lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 42.2. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.
These statistics were consolidated from 10 different exchanges. It includes only USD/BTC trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of USD/BTC trades during the measurement period.
