SurBitcoin to resume bitcoin trading operations

SurBitcoin will officially resume fiat-to-bitcoin trading after solving its disputes with a major Venezuelan bank.

It has been about 20 days since SurBitcoin stopped offering its service for the second time in a year. The platform, citing issues with the banking service provider, Banco Banesco had put a temporary hold on its operations. The bank had reportedly closed the exchange platform’s account, whose representatives have since been involved in discussions with Banesco to get the bank account restored.

On its Facebook page, the bitcoin exchange announced that operations will be restored in one week’s time. SurBitcoin said it has finally secured an approval from the Venezuelan bank, allowing the exchange to handle fiat currency on the platform.

SurBitcoin did not detail why Banesco decided to stop providing banking services to the exchange. However, the shutdown came in the heels of Venezuelan police busting a bitcoin mining farm in the state of Carabobo.
