The Bitfinex and BTC-e exchanges have claimed that they suffered denial-of-service attacks this week, interrupting trading by their customers.

The news comes in the wake of a site outage by Coinbase earlier in the week.

Attacks on Bitfinex started on Tuesday morning, knocking the site off-line for about an hour before service resumed. The attacks were renewed today, resulting in sporadic outages. However, some customers were able to access the service, Bitfinex claimed.

Smaller exchange BTC-e sent out a Tweet on Monday reporting a DDoS attack that afternooon, resulting in a temporary outage. The service resumed today and the Tweet was deleted.

On Monday, Coinbase went down, claiming massive trading volume was the cause. That was the second outage in two weeks for the service, both in the wake of major trading activity in bitcoin and ethereum.
