Venture capital firm Outlier Ventures has joined the the Wall Street Blockchain Alliance (WSBA) as a corporate member.

Outlier Ventures invests in companies building Web 3.0 with decentralized technologies and convergence-related startups. Outlier Ventures is also the company behind Blockchain Corporate Tracker, Blockchain Startup Tracker, and Token Tracker. The Wall Street Blockchain Alliance (WSBA) is a 501(c)(6) non-profit trade association created for financial market professionals. Its mission is to guide and promote comprehensive adoption of distributed ledger technology (DLT) across financial markets.

“We are very excited to have Outlier Ventures join the WSBA as one of our corporate members,” said Ron Quaranta, Chairman of the WSBA. “The team at Outlier have been involved in the development of blockchain from the early days and bring a wealth of expertise to WSBA members and the industry.”

“The WSBA fulfills an increasingly important role in working with and educating the Wall Street community about how blockchain can reinvent and improve decades old financial services processes, said Jamie Burke,” CEO of Outlier Ventures. “With distributed ledger technology, global financial markets can be more efficient, more innovative and more transparent. We look forward to working with the WSBA team and the entire membership to further build and share blockchain knowledge.”

“Blockchain regulation and the development of best practices has come a long way but there’s still a lot of work to do for the global promise to be fulfilled,” said Greg Murphy, Head of Regulation and Compliance for Outlier Ventures.  “This effort requires high-level cooperation between the blockchain community, the financial services industry and regulators. The WSBA plays a leading and critical role in furthering such dialogue. I look forward to contributing to the discussion on the legal working group and other initiatives within WSBA in the coming months.”

In June, The Wall Street Blockchain Alliance launched the WSBA Certification Framework (WCF), an educational platform to expand blockchain knowledge within financial markets, across all segments of financial services and within all disciplines.
