Biconomy Brings Cross-Chain Transactions to Popular dApp, Zed Run

Multichain relayer network Biconomy has partnered with Virtually Human Studio to integrate its cross chain bridge, Hyphen.

Biconomy enables Web3.0 developers to easily build applications. It reduces the friction between blockchain-based applications and end-users. Their relayer network is made up of a collection of software development kits (SDKs) and APIs designed to make DeFi more accessible and understandable for everyone, regardless of their knowledge and experience.

Virtually Human Studio is the creator of ZED RUN, a popular dApp that utilizes NFTs to allow users to breed, purchase, and race virtual horses in the metaverse. According to recent data, there are over 15,000 stable owners on the platform, with horses selling for up to $125,000. Comedy duo Hamish and Andy, rapper Ja Rule, and boxer Mike Tyson are just a few of the participants who have been known to use the platform.

While ZED RUN has seen tremendous growth, attracting audiences including a number of mainstream brands in partnership like Atari, Stella Artois, and recently NASCAR, it has also faced roadblocks to adoption including the time it takes to exchange funds in order to participate. Currently, if a user wants to buy a digital racehorse or participate in a race on ZED RUN, they need to first send their ETH to Polygon. This process is both time consuming and costly, due to high gas fees and cross-chain transaction times.

“dApp games are fraught with complicated onboarding processes that have resulted in a broken gaming experience,” said Ahmed Al-Balaghi, CEO at Biconomy. “Hyphen will change all that by bringing in-game bridge features to blockchain gaming platforms.”

With Biconomy’s cross-chain bridge Hyphen, Zed Run users will be able to easily exchange funds from ETH to Polygon, without leaving the app, lowering gas fees and overall transaction times, making the game more about participating, and less about waiting. This marks one of the first times a cross-chain bridge will live directly inside a gaming dApp and sets a precedent for user experience moving forward.

“Our partnership with Biconomy enables us to bring users a more seamless gaming experience,“ said Geoff Wellman, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Virtually Human Studio. Hyphens cross-chain transactions will transform the way users can interact with blockchain games and ZED RUN is thrilled to be one of the first to implement a native cross-chain bridge into a gaming dapp.”

ZED RUN has been a long-time partner of Biconomy. Even prior to the integration of Hyphen,ZED RUN offered gasless transactions and zero racing transaction fees powered by Biconomy. To date, Biconomy has processed 4.2 million transactions for ZED RUN with a total volume of $9.5 million.
