Based in Buenos Aires, the NGO Sonrisas del Futuro applies cutting-edge medicine to treat children with congenital malformations on their faces without cost.  A strategic partner of the Smile Train International Foundation, the Argentine project has already received the first private donations in bitcoins, through its web platform.

Sonrisas del Futuro operates on children from Argentina who were born with cleft palate, alveolus (better known as cleft lip), and also with pathologies of less frequent craniofacial malformations. Directed by Dr. Diego Steinberg, who trained at the University of Buenos Aires and perfected his technique at the International Craniofacial Institute in Dallas, Texas, the NGO works with a multidisciplinary team in the areas of neonatology, pediatrics, phonoaudiology, odontopeditatry, otorhinolaryngology, genetics and psychology.

Currently, he performs his surgeries at the Municipal Maternal and Child Hospital of San Isidro. His project includes medical care for children in all of Latin America, based on private and corporate contributions.

“Offering the possibility of receiving donations in cryptocurrencies synthesizes the spirit of Sonrisas del Futuro in terms of being at the forefront of technology with the aim of curing children, as well as offering a safe environment for those who are interested in making their contributions of money without intermediaries,”  said Dr. Steinberg.
