Bitlish opens first multi-coin ATM in Russia’s second-largest city

UK-based bitcoin exchange Bitlish has established the first multi-coin automatic exchange point in Russia’s second-largest city of St. Petersburg.

The machine provides Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Zcash purchasing facilities with an automatically-updating exchange rate.

The new multi-coin ATM is located in a shopping center at Sredny Prospekt V.O. 36, located on the city’s Vasilevsky Island. With the launch of this bitcoin ATM into Russian markets, Bitlish aims to implement more ATM’s in the country but due to legal issues and concerns, it has hosted only a couple of machines.

The installation in itself is a sign of changing times regarding Russia’s relationship with cryptocurrency. Having previously de facto banned it as a “surrogate” alternative to the ruble, the country’s central bank this year signaled a new perspective.
