Blockchain Engineers Demand Increased 400% Since Last Year – Report

Hired, a recruitment firm for technology companies, has issued a report that claims the demand for developers has raised the stakes on salaries. The position pays on average between $150,000 and $175,000 dollars per year in the United States.

Crypto engineers with development experience in blockchain technology are more in demand than ever. In comparison, a software engineer earns an average of $135,000. The new position of “blockchain engineer” is at the same salary level as those specialized in artificial intelligence, so far the best paying engineering position.

Since Hired opened the “blockchain” category as a subcategory at the end of 2017, the number of searches increased by 400%. The demand has grown as Facebook, Amazon, IBM and Microsoft, among others, have begun to work on projects that make use of technology.

“There is a ton of demand for blockchain,” said Mehul Patel, CEO of Hired. “Software engineers are very scarce, but this is even more serious and that is why salaries are even higher.”

Engineers who wish to specialize in blockchain must understand networking, database design, and cryptographic computing, according to the main employers in the field. Blockchain engineers code in a variety of programming languages ​​such as Java, JavaScript, C ++, Go, Solidity and Python, among others.
