Blockchain Firm Neufund, Blocktrade Partner On Secondary Transactions

Berlin-based blockchain equity fundraising platform Neufund has teamed with crypto startup Blocktrade to bring increased liquidity to tokenized real-world assets.

Neufund’s platform allows both well-established and new companies to get funding by issuing blockchain-based equity tokens. These tokens are issued as a result of an investment process that, in many ways, is similar to the process that a startup goes through when funded classically. In particular, a company must prove to investors that its shares/tokens have value. It recently partnered with the Malta Stock Exchange, Binance and BitBay to boost liquidity in the nascent security token marketplace. The company will soon host its first security token offering (STO) on its primary market.

Based in Liechtenstein, Blocktrade is developing and operating an institutional-grade crypto exchange. It is in the process of obtaining a full MiFIID II license as an investment firm that operates an MTF (Multilateral Trading Facility), acts as a broker for retail traders, helps companies raise money with security token issuance, and acts as a custodian for clients’ securities.

Under the partnership, Blocktrade will become a secondary market for security tokens tokenized by Neufund, thus including blockchain-based investment assets into existing financial markets. Blocktrade is the first secondary market partner from Liechtenstein, a country that aims to become a preferred destination for blockchain companies to locate and do business.

Luka Gubo, CEO of Blocktrade, said that building a whole ecosystem for the tokenization of assets is a major step toward the future of financial markets.

“I personally look forward to working closely with Neufund, with the common goal of transforming how financial markets work,” said Gubo. “We are especially impressed with Neufund’s approach to fully regulated equity token issuance, and the services they provide to issuers all while having a great team.”

Zoe Adamovicz, CEO and Co-founder of Neufund, said that they partnered with Blocktrade because they both share the common goal of bringing much-needed liquidity to tokenized real-world assets, including private equity.

“Tokenizing securities is one, enabling their secondary trading is a whole different story. Neufund is the first tokenization protocol and primary market for securities, that establishes a secondary market partnership with trading facilities such as Binance, BitBay, Malta Stock Exchange and now Blocktrade.com,” Adamovicz said.
