Blockchain Network Launched By Asia Pacific Conservative Union To Combat Authoritarianism

The Asia Pacific Conservative Union (APCU) has launched a new blockchain network to combat the rise of authoritarianism.

The APCU has been founded in Taiwan in January 2018 to protect the “Peace and Prosperity” of Asia. The organization is engaged in a wide variety of activities including supporting the establishment of Conservative Unions and supporting holding Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in various countries, establishing APCU’s unique thinktanks, establishing conservative media with a worldwide network, and planning and implementation of entertainment strategies.

The new blockchain network, dubbed Liberty Ecosystem, is a decentralized federation of local advocacy and economic development organizations seeking to fight authoritarianism in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world. The network will be partnering with token economy ecosystem Wowoo to launch the Liberty Token in order to empower local organizations to fight against authoritarianism by building a shared community and financial infrastructure.

Authoritarianism is a form of government characterized by strong central power and limited political freedoms. Authoritarian regimes invest in foreign infrastructure projects in a bid to assert control over the political sovereignty of other countries. According to APCU, authoritarian regimes, such as China, North Korea and Russia, are using their economic might to influence other countries’ key political, social and economic institutions and thereby expanding their authoritarian models to countries such as Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Japan.

“The time has come to choose and decide whether freedom and democracy centered in Japan, US and India will lead the world, or whether totalitarian countries such as North Korea and China where there is no freedom of speech will be allowed to control the world by terror,” ACPU said.

Jikido Aeba, Chairman of ACPU and Co-founder of the Liberty Ecosystem, said that their mission is to protect and expand the liberty of individuals, communities and nations.

“We are focused on counterbalancing threats to liberty in two areas: governments who are limiting individual and group rights within their countries, and authoritarian governments such as China and Russia who are expanding their governance models to other countries.

According to ACPU, the Liberty Token will allow members and local organizations to obtain tokens for referring other local organizations to the ecosystem. Tokens will be distributed by community managers to their members to reward and incent behavior – such as creating content or advocating for issues. Tokens can also be staked for voting or can be used to buy or sell services – such as transaction or mining fees.

“We believe that there will be a first mover advantage to those who this new blockchain technology to create “New Power” business models to disrupt the “Old Power” models,” said Yasu Kikuta, CEO and Co-founder of the Liberty Ecosystem. “The Liberty Ecosystem is the first crypto project to create a New Power model to counter-balance authoritarian expansion.”
