Swedish Blockchain developer ChromaWay has released its new distributed database product called Postchain. The software claims to combine the power and flexibility of SQL databases with blockchain database design.

Announced at Money 20/20 in Copenhagen, ChromaWay said it is addressing a blockchain industry problem: while blockchains are great at security and trust, the design currently sacrifices all of the flexible and powerful features offered by a modern database system.

The company claimed that a blockchain solution with Postchain can take advantage of the large pool of SQL developers with production experience and expertise, eliminating specialized blockchain developers, which are in short supply in such a young field.

Postchain is an open-source product that works in conjunction ChromaWay’s existing enterprise database systems.
