DMarket, the first universal marketplace for cross-game trading, will hold an initial coin offering (ICO) on August 17. The DMarket token is represented by Appcoin, a cryptocurrency that offers a digital payment method for purchasing applications with decentralized digital currency.

The company said they are building a global marketplace based on blockchain and smart contracts. It enables one-click sales, exchanges or evaluation of every virtual item between all games on any platform. The blockchain will ensure 100% security and safety. Smart contracts are the bridge on blockchain to connect all game worlds and universes without any third party. They will log changes of ownership and automatically transfer payments. The Dmarket token is native to Dmarket and is the only currency used in the marketplace.

DMarket will allow gamers to buy, sell, and trade everything from skins to tools and weapons from any game with the click of a button. Gamers will be able to earn money by selling the items they own and then use that money to buy other items for various other games, or simply cash it out.

“DMarket is going to become a game changer for the industry, creating a multi billion market of in-game items,” said Dmarket founder and CEO Volodymyr Panchenko. “Twelve months ago, we started trading virtual items in just a couple of games. We have already traded 20 millions of those. We know what the market needs and how to build it. The blockchain technology enables one-click sales, creating a bridge between different game universes, providing real value for virtual assets.”
