Crypto Debit Card Issuer Bitnovo Adds Bitcoin Cash Support

Cryptocurrency payment platform Bitnovo has added support for Bitcoin Cash (BCH). BCH becomes the fourth cryptocurrency it offers, joining longstanding currencies like bitcoin, Dash, and ethereum.

Based out of the Spanish territory of Valencia, Bitnovo is a payment platform that offers a range of services to the cryptocurrency community. The platform, with a presence in over 130 countries, allows users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies using crypto vouchers, crypto ATMs, and pre-paid cards. It also lets users buy small denomination cards anonymously.

The addition of Bitcoin Cash will allow users of Bitcard, a crypto-based debit card, and N26, a mobile-based banking service allowing its users to buy and sell cryptocurrency, to replenish their cards or accounts with BCH.

“From today, holders of Bitcard and a N26 account can now top them up easily in Bitnovo platform with bitcoin cash,” Roberta Quintiliano, chief marketing officer at Bitnovo. “Furthermore, it will be possible to use bitcoin cash as payment methods to purchase all the Bitnovo services.”

Launched in August 2017, BCH is bitcoin’s most successful offshoot. It differs from bitcoin in that it increases the block size from 1 MB to 8 MB. BCH also removes Segregated Witness (SegWit), a proposed code adjustment designed to free up block space by removing certain parts of the transaction. BCH is currently the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap.

Bitnovo said they decided to add support for Bitcoin Cash because they believe it will bring real value in real time.

“With our card we allow (users) to change bitcoin … to the currency of legal tender that you have associated with your debit card. In this way, at any time, you can count on cash or your card thanks to the value of your cryptocurrency,” Bitnovo said.
