Founded in 2014, bitFlyer is Japan’s largest bitcoin exchange by trading volume and one of the largest in the world. It supports multiple digital currency trading pairs, including ether and Bitcoin Cash. It is the first bitcoin exchange to be regulated in Japan, the US, and Europe.

T-Point is a common point service used by 69.61 million people, over half the population of Japan. For over 15 years, T-Point has been a part of every scene in users’ lives at over 1.06 million locations, including convenience stores, supermarkets, drug stores, restaurants, clothing stores, electronics stores, mobile phone carriers, ecommerce, and electricity and gas utilities.

Under the partnership, bitFlyer will launch “T-Point Program,” which will allows users to use T-Point to receive bitcoin or earn T-Point rewards when using bitcoin to purchase products or services.

According to bitFlyer, the program will allow users to exchange every 100 T-Points for 85 JPY worth of bitcoin. When using bitFlyer Wallet to make payments in bitcoin at participating locations, users will receive T-Point 1 pt for every 500 JPY equivalent spent.

“As part of our mission of ‘Making the world simpler with blockchain’, we will continue to contribute to the further development of a sound virtual currency industry,” bitFlyer said. “Tpoint Japan aims to turn their well-known points into ‘Points for people. Points for connecting people and society.’ Participating locations include Bic Camera, Yamada Denki, H.I.S., and more.”
