Crypto Markets Continue To Move Sideways In Light Trading

The crypto markets continued to march it place today, as the market saw small nibbles at its prices in early trading.

Most of the top ten coins were in the red as of mid-morning. Bitcoin was at $6,400, down a few tenths on light volume. Ether continued to cling to the ledge of the $200 level, sitting at $202, while Bitcoin Cash, EOS and XRP also lost a few tenths.

The early trading outliers were Stellar, down just over two percent; Cardano, down about one and a half; and Monero, down about two percent.

The highest price seen was $6,729.58 on the Cryptonex exchange at 1:37 pm yesterday. Cryptonex saw $35,648,125 of bitcoin change hands.

The lowest price seen was $6,330.20 on Cryptonex’s exchange at 10:25 pm yesterday. Cryptonex’s 24 hour volume was $35,648,125.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $6,464.89.

Volatility was a bit lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 44.9. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.

These statistics were consolidated from 23 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
