Crypto Markets Continue To Settle Into A Comfortable Range

The crypto markets continued to be stuck in a narrow range in today’s early trading. Most coins were down a few tenths to slightly less than two percent in the top ten.

Bitcoin was at $6,500 per single coin, down a half-percent over the last 24 hours. Volume was extremely light..

The rest of the top ten were in a similar rut, with ether holding above $200 in the most notable sign of a sleepy market. The outlier so far is Tether, up incrementally to 0.99 as it inches back toward $1.

The highest price seen was $6,951.93 on the Simex exchange at 8:31 am today. Simex saw $49,280,326 of bitcoin change hands.

The lowest price seen was $6,227.54 on Simex’s exchange at 6:49 am today. Simex’s 24 hour volume was $49,280,326.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $6,486.02.

Volatility was a bit lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 46.5. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.

These statistics were consolidated from 25 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
