Crypto Markets In Positive Territory, Marked By Small Changes

A crypto market yearning to break out instead stayed in its rut today, with some green shoots but ultimately little movement on prices.

In early trading, bitcoin sat at the $6,,500 mark, up slightly from yesterday on light volume. Most of the top ten coins showed similar movement, rising a few tenths of a percent.

The early outlier was XRP, up close to four percent, as it blasted through a crucial price point.

The highest price seen was $6,739.92 on the Cryptonex exchange at 10:37 am today. Cryptonex saw $38,883,499 of bitcoin change hands.

The lowest price seen was $6,363.23 on Cryptonex’s exchange at 7:01 pm yesterday. Cryptonex’s 24 hour volume was $38,883,499.

The average price on the surveyed exchanges, as weighed by volume, was $6,480.87.

Volatility was a bit lower than average, with the BlockTribune Volatility Index coming in at 46.2. A higher number indicates greater price volatility with 50 describing an average day.

These statistics were consolidated from 25 different exchanges. It includes only BTC/USD trades and only on those exchanges that had at least 1% of the total volume of BTC/USD trades during the measurement period.
