Crypto trading platform ShapeShift has appointed Lisa Loud as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO).

ShapeShift gives crypto users the power to quickly swap between assets. The company has grown an average of 48% per month since launching just under three years ago. It also operates under a strict “no fiat” policy, which means only legitimate cryptocurrencies are permitted on the platform.

Loud is a former senior engineer at California-based computer technology corporation Oracle and California-based multinational technology company Apple. Loud has also led executive-level roles at California-based payments company PayPal and BitMex, a cryptocurrency exchange and derivative trading platform.

“I’ve always been drawn to cutting-edge technologies that have the ability to make the world a better place. … When I evaluated the role, it was clear that ShapeShift had some of the best technology and leadership in the industry today, so I’m very excited to join and help steer the company to the next level,” Loud told Denver Business Journal.

Erik Voorhees, CEO and Co-Founder of ShapeShift, said that Loud’s expertise in data-driven customer acquisition, engineering and product iteration make her a vital addition to the ShapeShift team.

“As we move into the next phase of our growth, we’ll look to Lisa’s experience with businesses like Apple, PayPal and BitMex to build the world’s greatest crypto company,” Voorhees said.
