Blockchain.com, a cryptocurrency wallet provider, has opened a new office in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Founded in 2011, Blockchain.com is currently the provider of the world’s most popular bitcoin wallet and the most widely used bitcoin APIs. It currently has 30 million wallet users in over 140 countries.

The new office in Lithuania, which is part of the firm’s European expansion, is the company’s fifth location and will serve as a home to their customer success operations, design, and engineering teams as they continue to grow. The establishment of the new office will also allow Blockchain.com to continue to serve their growing user base, and develop new and innovative software that will transform the future of the financial landscape.

“We’re excited about our future in Lithuania,” the company said. “We explored several options in Europe, but Vilnius emerged as the ideal place for us to expand our team. We were immediately impressed with the vibrant talent pool and the city’s commitment to innovation.”

The news came after the Bank of Lithuania, the country’s central bank, released its updated position on cryptocurrencies and initial coin offering (ICO) to ensure a level playing field for all financial market participants (FMP). The updated position allows FMPs to create investment funds intended for professional investors that would invest in virtual assets.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Blockchain to Vilnius,” said Virginijus Sinkevičius, the Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania. “The presence of a company as well-known as Blockchain will put Lithuania in the spotlight of the international blockchain community.”
