The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) has appointed Aya Miyaguchi to the EEA Board.

Formed in February 2017 by JP Morgan, Santander, and a number of other founders, EEA has grown to over 500 members this year. It is seeking to evolve ethereum so that it can serve as an enterprise-grade technology. EEA is also investigating hybrid architectures that span both permissioned and public ethereum networks, as well as industry specific application layer working groups.

Miyaguchi originally became fascinated in the blockchain space for its potential to impact financial inclusion in emerging markets. In early 2013, she joined Kraken as Managing Director and has since worked to educate the public, VCs, and regulators on cryptocurrencies and blockchain innovation globally. As the Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation, Aya leads the Foundation’s teams and supports the Ethereum ecosystem through core development and research activities, and educational efforts aimed at further expanding the world’s largest blockchain ecosystem. This year, she was appointed to the World Economic Forum’s Blockchain Global Council.

As a member of the EEA Board of Directors, Miyaguchi will help strengthen the interoperability and current work of EEA executive director Ron Resnick. She will take part in guiding the organization’s vision, and in other initiatives as part of her participation with the EEA.

“It is with great excitement that the EEA welcomes Aya Miyaguchi as the newest member of the Alliance’s Board,” Resnick said. “Aya, who serves as the Ethereum Foundation’s Executive Director, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the EEA and will be a tremendous asset as we continue to build out our roadmap.”

“This is an exciting time,” said Ethereum Foundation Executive Director and EEA Director Aya Miyaguchi. “As blockchain adoption accelerates, it’s important that the Ethereum Foundation work to connect businesses with the latest research and development coming from our worldwide community, and that we convey our challenges and experiences while better understanding those impacting industries. I hope that this common understanding and cooperation will bring Ethereum’s technology more broadly and effectively to the world.”
