Ethereum Classic Added To Robinhood’s Crypto Trading Appbr>
Commission-free investing app Robinhood has added support for Ethereum Classic (ETC) on its platform.
Robinhood Crypto, which is currently available in 19 US states, also allows users to trade in bitcoin, ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and Dogecoin. The app aslo track market data for 10 other cryptocurrencies, read cryptocurrency news, and create price alerts for 16 coins.
Ethereum Classic came into existence when some members of the ethereum community rejected the hard fork on the grounds of “immutability,” the principle that the blockchain cannot be changed, and decided to keep using the unforked version of ethereum. ETC is currently the eleventh largest cryptocurrecny with a market capitalization of over $1.9 billion. At press time, the token was trading at $18.85, according to Coinmarketcap.
Robinhood’s decision to list ETC follows a similar announcement by crypto exchange Coinbase. In June of this year, the exchange announced that its engineering team had begun to work on the integration of ETC. Last week, Coinbase said the final testing should be completed by August 7. ETC will be opened up initially to users of Coinbase Pro and Coinbase Prime, and no customers will be able to trade in ETC immediately.
