The slumping cryptocurrency markets may have taken down one of the industry’s early stage giants. A report in the South China Morning Post said mining giant Bitmain is appointing a new CEO, moving aside co-CEOs Jihan Wu and Micree Zhan.

Haichao Wang, the Bitmain director of product engineering, will reportedly assume the CEO duties. Wang has allegedly already taken on some CEO duties. Wu and Zhan are expected to remain as chairmen of the firm and will still have a large voice in decisions, including, the South China Morning Post said, “final call” on the business direction.

BitMain Technologies Holding Company is seeking to go public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX). The company is awaiting final approval from the HKEX for an initial public offering.
