Mobile payment services firm Glance Technologies has launched a new service that allows users to pair their cryptocurrency wallet with their Glance Pay account.

Based in Canada, Glance owns and operates the Glance Pay mobile application, a streamlined payment system that revolutionizes how smartphone users choose where to shop, make payments, access digital receipts, redeem digital deals, earn great rewards, and interact with merchants. It also provides Glance Merchant App, a mobile app that enables businesses to accept mobile payments instantly. In addition, it is developing Glance Coin, a reward token.

The company recently rolled out a new feature, called Pay With Bitcoin, that enables Glance Pay users to buy Glance Dollars with the cryptocurrency. Glance Dollars represent a credit that can be spent instantly at participating merchants within the Glance Pay ecosystem. The new feature will reportedly complement the Glance PayMe application, which provides merchants of any size with a suite of payment options.

“Pay With Bitcoin marks an important step forward as Glance advances its blockchain infrastructure,” the firm said. “Bitcoin is the world’s pre-eminent cryptocurrency, however, one of the challenges with bitcoin payments are that transactions can take hours to complete. Glance’s new feature solves this problem by enabling lightning-fast payments.”

Glance Technologies CEO Desmond Griffin said that the company is contstantly building out new payment features to ensure their platform is at the forefront of technology.

“Pay With Bitcoin allows Glance users to unlock the value of their crypto assets for use in their everyday lives while seamlessly opening up a new cutting-edge payment method for merchants,” Griffin said.

Glance Technologies also announced a Real-Time Bill feature that enables users to view and pay their bill directly from the Glance Pay app without waiting for the paper bill. The app identifies the user’s bill based on Quick Response (QR) codes or Near-field communication (NFC) tags at their table and accesses and settles the appropriate bill in real-time from the merchant’s point of sale system.
