Paris Saint-Germain Footbal Club To Launch Fan Token Offering

The Paris Saint-Germain football club (PSG) has signed a multi-year strategic partnership with blockchain platform Socios to launch a token ecosystem.

Founded in 1970, PSG is a French professional football club based in the city of Paris. Since its inception, PSG have played 48 seasons, all of which have been spent within the first three levels of the French football league system (Ligue 1, Ligue 2 and Division 3). It holds many records, most notably being the most successful French club in history in terms of trophies won, with 38, the only club to have never been relegated from Ligue 1, the club with most consecutive seasons in top-flight, and one of only two French clubs to have won a major European title.

Socios claims to be a turnkey solution for any football club to monetize their fan base via a custom Fan Token Offering (FTO). It gives fans access to club branded Fan Tokens that come with voting rights and access to VIP level club rewards and engagement opportunities. Socios’ blockchain platform is powered by CHZ token.

As part of the partnership, Socios will work alongside PSG to develop the world’s first FTO for the fotball club’s fanbase. The PSG fan token will be listed on the Socios platform and will allow fans to engage with the club through mobile voting and polling platforms. Token owners will also be granted access to exclusive fan rewards, content and experiences.

PSG said the partnership is part of the club’s broader strategy to integrate blockchain, to enhance its relationship with fans and business operations.
