FinTech startup Circle will be adding privacy-centric cryptocurrency ZCash to its list of offerings for its Circle Invest platform.

ZCash is a cryptocurrency aimed at using cryptography to provide enhanced privacy for its users. Zcash payments are published on a public blockchain, but users are able to use an optional privacy feature to conceal the sender, recipient, and amount being transacted. ZCash is currently among the top 30 cryptocurrencies, with a market capitalization of over $1 billion.

ZCash joins bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, ethereum, Ethereum Classic and Litecoin as available currencies through the Circle Invest platform, which was rolled out in 46 states across the US in March. The platform provides retail investors with exposure to Circle Trade, the company’s high-volume institutional trading desk. Users can purchase and invest as little as $1 and the service does not command a fee.

“Our mission for Circle Invest is to democratize access to investing in crypto assets for every consumer,” said Circle Invest senior product manager Rachel Mayer. “Making the wider breadth of assets available on Circle Invest will continue to be a part of this mission, and of course doing our best to ensure that we bring the crypto without the cryptic to everyone, anywhere.”

Mayer added that they will be announcing similar types of updates over the course of this month.
