Dubai To Use Blockchain To Improve Court System

The Dubai International Financial Center Courts (DIFC), a court system dealing with civil and commercial disputes, is planning to create the “first blockchain court” to streamline legal operations.

The DIFC announced on Monday that it will be partnering with the government-backed Smart Dubai initiative to create a joint taskforce that will explore how to aid verification of court judgments for cross-border enforcement.

The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) and Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) have launched a blockchain registry to make it easier for businesses to set up and operate in the country.

Called Dubai Blockchain Business Registry, the platform was developed in collaboration with Smart Dubai and IBM and is aligned with the country’s Blockchain Strategy,

The Road and Transportation Authority (RTA) of Dubai has revealed plans to create a vehicle lifecycle management system using blockchain technology as part of the Dubai 10X initiative.

The project aims to enhance the customer experience by providing the complete history of a vehicle – from the manufacturer to the scrap yard.
