In normal times, the “halving” events of the three competing Bitcoin blockchains – all scheduled to take place roughly within a month of each other this year – would be big news in and of itself – but perhaps not so much this time given world attention on the COVID-19 pandemic.
These are tough times for Bitcoin SV, the spin-off that is backed by the controversial Craig Wright, one of the largest personalities in cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin SV was recently delisted from Binance, Kraken, and Shapeshift. The reasons for doing so were murky, but undoubtedly traces back more to personal conflicts between the founders of those companies than anything else.
Crypto-focused social network Yours.org has raised $1.5 million in Series A funding round led by Bitmain and nChain.
The new capital will be used to recruit more engineers and growth experts. It will also aid the company in their mission to educate the masses about cryptocurrency.
The nChain Group, a research and development firm for blockchain technologies, has appointed Jimmy Nguyen as Chief Executive Officer.
Nguyen has previously served in roles as Chief Business Officer, and Chief Intellectual Property, Communications & Legal Officer. Prior CEO Stefan Matthews will now serve as Chairman of the Board for nChain Group.
