Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC is planning to release a second-generation model of its blockchain smartphone before the end of 2019.

Taiwanese electronics maker HTC has unveiled its upcoming smartphone that can run blockchain-based decentralized applications (DApp).‎

The new smartphone, dubbed Exodus, will feature crypto-linked functions such as a cold ‎storage crypto wallet, secure exchange access, encrypted ‎communications and a peer to peer (P2P) resource ‎sharing ecosystem for payment and apps.‎ The smartphone will be compatible with multiple protocols and will also support interoperability.

Switzerland-based blockchain firm Sirin Labs, the creator of the $17,000 ultra-secure Solarin smartphone, has so far raised $121 million in an initial coin offering (ICO). The SRN token sale started on December 12 and will run until December 25.

Sirin Labs is developing the first blockchain smartphone and all-in-one personal computer called Finney.
